  • Male Educator – NorthBay is looking for a male Educator to teach environmental education & science, character & outdoor education to school students. Educators must have a bachelor’s degree in outdoor education, environmental or natural science, education, art, social studies language arts, or related fields. Educators must love students and must be open to new teaching methods and practices. Educators must be teachable. Educators must be flexible, team players.

    Summer Education Coordinator - Summer Position

    The summer education coordinator will coordinate and deliver high quality education programming through the CWI (Chesapeake Wilderness Institute Summer Program) and the Baltimore City Summer Learning Academy. This person will be responsible for maintenance and development of Education projects and resource to include the Homestead, Greenhouse, Aquaculture and Captive Bird Care. The Education Coordinator will assist with waterfront programming as required and other duties assigned.

    Store Worker – Summer and School Year Positions

    The store worker is responsible for the day to day functions of running the Gift Shop/Store. Responsibilities include greeting and waiting on customers, replenishing and ensuring freshness and quality of merchandise, following through with the daily accounting procedures set forth, receiving, stocking, rotating, conducting inventory, and the cleaning and proper sanitation of applicable areas. The store workers hours will vary during the summer weekdays and weekends with our guests, during the school year which begins in late August the hours are normally Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and weekends when needed. This job requires someone who has excellent customer service skills, is enthusiastic and flexible.

    Snack Bar Worker – Summer and School Year Positions

    The Snack Bar Worker is responsible for the day to day functions of working in the Snack Bar. Responsibilities include greeting and waiting on patrons, scooping ice cream, serving coffee and other snack bar items and following through with the daily procedures set forth, running a cash register, replenishing stock, and the cleaning and proper sanitation of the entire snack bar area. This job requires the worker to utilize a cash register, make change and count money, good verbal communications, customer service orientation, pleasant can do attitude, friendly cordial style. The snack bar worker hours will vary during the summer weekdays and weekends with our guests, during the school year which begins in late August the hours are normally Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and weekends when needed. This job requires someone who has excellent customer service skills, is enthusiastic and flexible.

    Guest Host – Summer Position

    The Guest Host will serve as weekend & summer host for rental groups on a rotating basis. Daily opening and closing procedures, attend to the guests' needs, meals, adventure activities and program events. This individual will also be largely responsible for guest-oriented duties of the department and general care of the property. The guest host must have outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills and be a team player. The job functions of this position requires that you will be in the outdoors in all-weather including but not limited to rain, snow sleet, high wind, cold, heat, and may be exposed to biting and/or stinging insects to include but not limited to ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes, flies and bees. Extensive walking and standing is required of this position.

    Dockhands

    Dockhands will run waterfront activities to include but not limited to tubing, sailing, and paddling, as well as daily maintenance and housekeeping of beach, dock, boats and all other associated equipment.

    Candidates should understand the NorthBay mission and set a strong example of character and leadership for both campers and staff. Positive attitude and ability to be a team player. Strong communication skills required.

    To perform the expected duties, a Dockhand must have experience in safe boat operation and watersports. Maryland Boater Safety certificate is required and lifeguard certification is preferred. Documentation of Maryland Boater Safety Certificate will be required. Able to work from June - September 2013.

    Candidate must be flexible to work day, and evening shifts to include weekends

    Lifeguard

    We are in search of Certified Lifeguards to supervise the campers and staff during all swim sessions, and assure that all rules are followed and a safe environment is maintained. Inspects Facilities for cleanliness, completes general pool cleaning and maintenance duties. Candidates should understand the NorthBay mission and set a strong example of character and leadership for both campers and staff. Positive attitude and ability to be a team player. Strong communication skills required.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Certified Lifeguarding/First Aid, Certified CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  • Ability to work Full-Time from June - September 2013 possible part-time employment weekends prior to Memorial Day and following Labor Day (dates subject to change)
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to be outside for majority of shift

  • Adventure Staff – The Adventure Worker's role and responsibilities are vital to running the adventure activities. The Adventure Worker assures the constant safety and overall supervision of the Students and or Guests attending NorthBay. The Adventure Worker will maintain a positive, friendly and professional environment and attitude for the students and guests as well as other staff.

    Part time position 9 hours per week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday – 3-6 pm

    Part time position 12 -15 hours per week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 3-6pm Friday evenings, Saturday afternoon and evenings (flexible) must be able to work weekends

    Part time position – Friday and Saturdays
